Karen has been practicing yoga in the San Francisco Bay area since 1996 and she has been so lucky to study with amazing teachers like Betty Roi, Leslie Howard, Ramandand Patel and Judith Hanson Lasater.She has taught yoga and Pilates on and off since 2006, and has assisted Leslie Howard in her workshop in 2010 at the Yoga Journal Conference in San Francisco. She received her 200-hr certification from Frog Lotus Yoga in 2013 and her Relax and Renew Level 1 certification In January 17 and is in the process of becoming certified in Restorative Level 2 with Judith Hanson Lasater.In her own journey of discovery about the connection between body and mind Karen is finding that relaxation and movement are two sides of the same coin. Besides the well-known benefits of resting – the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system that helps us in the healing process – Karen is learning that an active movement practice – Yoga, Tai Chi, Kung Fu – benefit deeply from the capacity to move from a place of relaxation.
